Too Long Didn’t Read (TLDR)
What is additional messaging
Every RedChirp plan includes a certain number of SMS and MMS messages. If your organization sends more that this number in a given month, these are charged as additional messages.
|Plan||SMS Included||Additional SMS||MMS Included||Additional MMS|
Additionally, the major carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) have a variety of small fees (A2P 10DLC fees) that they charge to deliver your text messages. For example, AT&T charges $0.002 (two tenths of a penny) per outbound SMS message segment. If you are every having difficulty falling asleep at night, you can read a summary of these fees here. For the purposes of this article all carrier fees are being treated as additional messaging fees.
For the purpose of this article, we examined the period May 1st 2022 – May 1st 2023. Because many organizations have unusual usage when they first start using RedChirp (either lower than average messaging as they “ramp up” or higher than average messaging because they have “go wild” during there first month or two), we did not include any organizations usage during their first three months of messaging. Also, all prices (carrier fees) were computed at their value as of May 10th 2023.
All figures below were averaged by organization over a twelve month period.
